Aaaand we’re back! Last time we looked at the Imperials present at the climactic Battle of Endor. Now we’ll look at all of the Rebel’s who were there so you can have a go at putting together Rebel squads with a Battle of Endor Theme.
Let’s get things started with the two tricky additions to this list: Airen Cracken and Lieutenant Blount. In X-Wing, these guys are the two named pilots that came with the Z-95 Headhunter expansion.
The conundrum with including these two in an Endor themed list is that, they were in fact at the battle, though they weren’t flying in Headhunters.
Blount and Cracken were on board the Millennium Falcon manning the quad laser canons as Lando piloted the beloved space hamburger.
There were actually scenes shot of these guys in the Falcon, but they were cut from the final film.
Apparently, according to Wookieepedia, Headhunters were actually present at that battle, but Blount and Cracken weren’t flying them. So I leave it up to you how you feel about including those two in an Endor themed list. I think it’s fine. It’s a neat bit of trivia knowing those two were on the Falcon.
Now on to less controversial things.
Gold Squadron:
Gold Squadron consisted of only Y-Wings at the Battle of Yavin, but at Endor it consisted of Y-Wings and X-Wings and was lead by Lando Calrissian piloting the Falcon.
Gold Leader: Lando Calrissian + Nien Nunb + Gunner + Engine Upgrade + Millennium Falcon + Concussion Missiles
Gold Everything Else: Gold Squadron Pilot + Ion Turret
Worth noting is that the Y-Wings present at Endor were BTL-A4 Y-Wings. At the moment the BTL title for the Y-Wing is still unreleased but will be available whenever the Most Wanted Pack becomes available. So whenever you get your hands on that card, it’d be a worthwhile fit for the Endor theme.
Gray Squadron:
Gray Squadron was made up of Y-Wings and B-Wings at Endor. Since there are only Gray Squadron Y-Wings in X-Wing Miniatures, we’ll just forget B-Wings were in Gray Squadron.
Gray Leader: Horton Salm + Ion Canon Turret + R5-P9
Gray Everything Else: Gray Squadron Pilot + Ion Canon Turret
Blue Squadron:
Blue Squadron consisted of B-Winsg and A-Wings at Endor.
Blue 3: Ibtisam
Blue 5: Ten Numb
Blue 9: Keyan Farlander
With the B-Wings You can load them out however you like. There aren’t any upgrades that fit the theme so well that they’re a must take here.
Green Squadron:
Green Squadron was made up of only A-Wings. Its leader, Arvel Crynyd, somehow took down the Executor by breaking a hole in the bridge.
Green Leader: Arvel Crynyd + A-Wing Test Pilot + Intimidation + Chardaan Refit
Green 1: Green Squadron Pilot
Green 2: Gemmer Sojan
Green 3: Tycho Celchu
Green 4: Jake Farrell
There’s lots of good loadouts for A-Wings since Rebel Aces came out, so take your pick on how you want to equip those guys.
Red Squadron:
Red Squadron was pretty much the most elite fighter wing in the Rebel Alliance. Normally known as Rogue Squadron, for the Battle of Endor, Wedge Antilles changed the name of Rogue Squadron to Red Squadron to honor the heroes of Yavin.
Red Leader: Wedge Antillies + Proton Torpedoes
Red 4: Derek “Hobbie” Klivian
Red 8: Wes Janson
Red Whatever: Red Squadron Pilot
As with most of the other squadrons here, there aren’t any particularly thematic upgrades to put on these guys. I’d just shy away from unique droids if you want to stay really true to the theme.
Epic Scale Ships:
Among the larger capital ships the Rebel fleet also brough along smaller craft such as the CR90 Corvette and the GR-75 Medium Transport. Equip these guys how you want, just don’t add any unique crew members, since none of the unique crew members would fit in here; Han, Leia, 3PO, R2, and Chewie were on the forest moon, and the others weren’t present at the battle.
Well that’s all for the Battle of Endor! Did I miss anything? Let me know!
This is great, guys. Shed’s a little light on the whole who’s who. Keep the articles coming.
