It’s that time of the week again. That time where I try to come up with some sort of funny intro to the news article but end of failing completely.
Video Games
If the words “what if” or “if only” can send your mind down a black hole of thoughts that end in despair, fear not! At least one of those “what ifs” can sort of be answered now!
What if Battlefront III was actually completed? Well now there’s a mod for that. Battlefront Legacy, a Battlefront 2 mod that aims to create the cancelled game is currently in open beta.
Jumping back to the Battlefront we actually got instead of Battlefront III, it has been confirmed that there won’t be any new character skins for the game. Which, while confirmation of the fact is nice, seemed kind of obvious. DICE is obviously now focused on putting all of their resources into Battlefront 2.
We commented on this a while ago and unfortunately we won't be doing more costumes.

There’s a new Star Wars Humble Bundle! Pay what you want! The more you pay, the more games you get. The value here is insane and the proceeds go to charity! There’s no reason not to get in on this unless you already have all of these games.
Seriously. So many games: Knights of the Old Republic, X-Wing Alliance, X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, Galactic Battlegrounds, Battlefront 2, Jedi Outcast, Starfighter, Knights of the Old Republic II, Rebel Assault, The Force Unleashed 1 & 2, Rogue Squadron, Shadows of the Empire, and Empire at War! That’s a lot of games and you only need to pay $14 to get ALL of those!
Our favorite mobile game, Force Arena is getting a small content update.
The Rebels are getting a rebel trooper riding a Bantha. Which… is odd. Although the description for this unit is entertaining.
The Bantha is a very versatile animal. It’s fur, leather, meat, and bones are all useful! Even it’s feces can be used as fuel! Such an amazing resource! It also has Blue Milk which is amazing if you haven’t tried it! However, in Force Arena we have no use for such things. We need to tame the beast and weaponize it to strike fear into our enemies!
The empire isn’t being left out either. They get a unit that makes a little more sense, a dewback rider.
If you’re still playing Force Arena this is sort of exciting. Kind of like when you find a crumpled dollar bill in your pants pocket. If you’re on Force Arena be sure to join our guild: TheJodoCast.
Tabletop Games
Game streamer Tiny Grimes got to write an article on FFG’s website about the ideal team size in Star Wars Destiny.
Aside from the content of the article, the fact that Grimes got to write an article on their site, pretty much says that FFG is totally cool with free digital versions of their games, as Grimes features Destiny on Tabletop Simulator very frequently on his streams.
The article itself lays out why Tiny Grimes feels that 3 is the ideal team size for Destiny. If you want to know why, just go read the article.
In bigger Destiny news, Team Covenant (who else) got to reveal some new cards for the game as well as talk to the game’s lead designer Lukas Litzsinger about the next wave, Spirit of Rebellion.
The video reveals four new cards for the game that are certainly worth getting excited about.
And more content related to Team Covenant, Zach Bunn, of TC contributed an article to FFG’s site about building your first Imperial Squad in X-Wing miniatures.
The intent was to build a competetive team for $101. If you’re just getting into X-Wing, or know someone who is, this article is a great intro.
The Force and Destiny sourcebook Savage Spirits, which is out now. has a new preview for its specialization decks.
The purpose of specialization decks for the RPGs is essentially just making your life a littl easier with cool cards. Instead of referencing the books every time you need to remember what a particular skill does, you can just have these cards in front of you for reference.
Do you speak French? No? Ok I don’t either but I think I can still translate these newly revealed cards for the Star Wars LCG.
Ok nevermind, that site spoiled the entire force pack. I’m not struggling through the French of all of those cards.
Let’s wrap up this week’s news on something none of you should care about.
Hasbro has announced a new 40th Anniversary Special Edition of Star Wars Monopoly.
The game features “graphics of iconic characters and classic movie moments from STAR WARS EPISODE IV: A NEW HOPE“, plus new alternate rules that incorporate bases and fleets, setting the Empire against the Rebellion in a battle for galactic dominance once more.
Hasbro has surprised me, and dissapointed me in the past with their Star Wars editions of games. Even though it says this version of Monopoly has new rules for “bases and fleets” I can’t imagine this game will be any good. Monopoly is trash. Even a polished turd is still a turd.
