Fans of Pandemic, you are in luck! Today Z-Man Game and Asmodee announced the release of a brand new game based on the Pandemic System, Star Wars™: The Clone Wars. It is a cooperative game that will pit 1 to 5 players as Jedi against a villain and their army spreading across the galaxy.
Heroes will include Anakin Solo, Mace Windu, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luminara Unduli, Ahsoka Tano, Yoda, and Aayla Secura. Opposing them will be Maul, Asajj Ventress, Count Dooku, and General Grievous. Each villain will come with a unique scenario for the heroes to face. Assisting them will be squad cards to help give the heroes the edge they need to overcome the villain. According to Z-Man Games, “These cards come in the form of extra damage, additional armor, ships for traversing space, and familiar allies from Star Wars lore ready to lend a helping hand. Players can use these Squad Cards for themselves or to assist an ally, further solidifying the team based gameplay and strategy.”
Planets under siege make up the board that you will battling across to remove the droid armies and defeat the villain. Droids will attack on sight, and any planet that ends up with too many droids on it will fall under a blockade. This will hinder the Jedi’s efforts to liberate the planet and accomplish missions. The game is available for preorder starting today through Target online or the Asmodee store and is expected to release in October.
