REAL NEWS HERE! NO FAKE NEWS NO SIR.

Video Games:

The Scarif DLC for Battlefront is free for everyone this weekend if you never picked that one up. Do it. It’s pretty fun.

If you’re more in the mood for a blast from the not-to-distant past, The Force Unleashed is free for Xbox Live Gold members. Would anyone be interested in me doing a live-stream play through of this game? No? Ok…

In an interview with iDigitalTimes, production director for Star Wars Force Arena, Hong Seo Park, revealed that the game will be getting montly content updates as well as hinting at future roster updates. More characters!

“We still have characters that we haven’t been able to introduce, and some of the characters that players want will continue to be updated. We are also planning a new update that features a larger universe than what players see in the 1v1 and 2v2 battles currently available within the game,” Park said of the new content coming. There will also be balancing tweaks coming “as early as every two weeks.”

“For major updates, we are looking at introducing new content every month, but there may be minor changes to schedule,” said Park.”

Tabletop Games

While there isn’t any tabletop news this week regarding actual product releases or previews, we do have some pretty big news involving exciting events on the horizon.

If you won a Regional championship in the 2016/2017 season, you can now reserve your seat at Worlds in May!

If you weren’t fortunate enough to land a free seat at worlds, there’s still a bit of news in that announcement for the rest of us. Regular registration for Worlds opens on March 14! Mark your calendars!

More details have been revealed about the Coruscant Invitational taking place at Celebration Orlando. The eight system open finalists will be facing off in a new format being called 77-Plus, named in honor of the 1977 release of A New Hope.

Each of the eight players must build a 77 point squad, as opposed to the regular 100 point squad. Once at the event, each round they will draft a mini-squad to complete their 77 point squad. These mini squads will be crafted by community members, FFG staff members, and maybe even you!

There is an open contest right now to design these mini-squads that the System Open finalists might take into battle with them. Mini-squads for each faction must include either the B-Wing, TIE Advanced, or Y-Wing, depending on the faction.
