w Dawn will be set just before A New Hope and feature Star Wars: Rebels characters Kanan and Hera. According to author John Jackson Miller, “A New Dawn is a rollicking adventure set in the darkest days of the galaxy, when even the thought of organized resistance to the Empire seems an impossible fantasy. But as our characters find, one doesn’t always get to decide when the best time is to act.”
This book marks the first entry into the Star Wars EU made using input from the recently created Lucasfilm Story Group. A New Dawn is scheduled to be released this September.
I am ok with the Legends moniker for all previous EU, and I am actually glad that the Clone Wars series made the cut for canon. But I am especially glad for the authors we know and love moving the new lore forward. Will definitely pick this up.
I’m just glad they haven’t announced any Troy Denning books. It’s almost worth having the whole EU wiped out just to get rid of all his shite.
